    Description

    Superior Wisconsin 1920s promotional brochure
Up for sale is a very interesting and large fold-out brochure for Superior, Wisconsin and Douglas County.  There is no date that I can find, but the brochure lists Superior's population as 45,000, which it never officially reached.  But it had about 40,000 residents in 1910 and 1920 according to US census data, so the brochure is probably from that era.  After that, the population declined.  Inside are lots of photographs of the city, the recreational opportunities in the surrounding area, and farmsteads in the area.  And, there is much text about business, agricultural, and recreational activities in and near Superior.  There are also a couple of small maps.  This is a really neat look at how Superior promoted itself during its heyday.  The brochure was published by the Public Affairs Committee that had offices in the Androp Hotel Building.  The brochure is in very good condition, with a little yellowing and a little edge wear.
Thanks for looking.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Shipping and handling is free!
