OF REPRODUCTION  MOTOR BRUSH SPRINGS THAT ARE DESIGNED TO FIT YOUR ORIGINAL AURORA AFX MAGNA-TRACTION H.O. SCALE SLOT CARS.  THESE BRUSH SPRINGS WILL ALSO FIT YOUR AUTO WORLD X-TRACTION , X-TRACTION ULTRA G OR JOHNNY LIGHTNING X-TRACTION CHASSIS.
Here is some basic information on the comm springs:
Our measurements show original Aurora spring wire size is .005" (material unknown). There are 3 or 3.5 coils per spring at an uncompressed height of .054".
The new comm springs are made here in the USA from .0064" beryllium copper.  The larger wire should have less electrical resistance and be a bit more sturdy than original Aurora, while not increasing friction or binding.  There are 3.5 coils per spring at an uncompressed spring height of .054".  These springs will also work in all JL and AW X-Traction type chassis.  They are excellent replacements for the larger, stronger comm springs found in some recent AW cars.
Our observations have shown some recent Auto World comm springs are larger, using .008" wire (material unknown) and an uncompressed height of .0065". These larger springs can tend to cause excessive heat and friction/binding when used in original Aurora chassis.
